Tips to motivate your team: – Human is the main and most important resource for all businesses. With the energy and skills of a motivated team, you can accomplish everything. More than a manager who gives instructions, you must be a leader who works with his team, knows the strengths and weaknesses of each member and makes every effort to keep them motivated.

Departure of a collaborator in full project, bad atmosphere at work, delays in the deadlines … The lack of motivation can have a negative impact on your project.

Today, financial compensation and the evolution of careers are far from being the only levers of motivation. According to a study carried out by the Circle for Motivation in 2014, 53% of the employees interviewed felt that the interest of their mission and the usefulness of their role, as well as the quality of relations with their colleagues, are important criteria for motivation in job.

9- Tips to Motivate your Team Effectively

Take these precious indications into account and follow these 9 simple tricks to motivate your employees to get more involved in your project right now.

  • Sharing a Shared Vision

To federate your team and move forward together, it is important to share a common vision and values. “Making the world better” or “making life easier for consumers” is much more motivating than “making phones”. Remind colleagues that their work and efforts make a difference.

  • Communication

Communicating with your collaborators is essential to keep them motivated. Lack of communication can be harmful to the team who does not know where they are going or whether their work is satisfactory. Difficult to stay motivated under these conditions.

Define specific objectives and share information in real time. Your team needs to know what you want from it. In addition, by encouraging team members to communicate with each other and exchange ideas, problems resolve more quickly and the team’s productivity increases.

Be transparent and communicate regularly about the state of the current situation, your doubts or the problems encountered. Thus, you establish a relationship of trust with your team.

  • Listening

Listen to your team. She must know that you are there for her. Establish a climate conducive to openness and openness so that your employees feel encouraged to give their opinions or ideas. Always leave the door of your office open to indicate your availability to exchange on professional topics, but also private if the employee so wishes. It is important that you answer each question asked. If you do not have the answer, inquire and come back to the person later.

  • Confidence and Autonomy

Trust your employees and avoid micro-management. Leave autonomy to your team and do not keep an eye on your every move. If they feel you trust them, your employees will be more involved in their tasks. Remember that trust must be mutual: your team must know that it can also count on you at any time.

  • Accountability

Empowering your employees is a great way to involve them in a project and to encourage them to work efficiently and reliably. Assigning them to a task or project proves that you trust them and that you believe in them and their skills. This responsibility will force them to redouble their efforts and to do everything possible to succeed in the mission entrusted to them and not disappoint you.

  • Be an Example

As a project manager or manager, you must be an exemplary leader and respect yourself the rules that you impose on your collaborators. Be motivated, get involved in your project, be responsible, work hard and stay enthusiastic at every moment. Avoid transmitting stress to your team.

If your team can feel your motivation and energy through your positive attitude and actions, it will permeate and imitate you.

Do you want to work for a project manager who is always absent, negative and demotivated? No. Same for your team.

  • Training

Working in a company that drives you to grow and grow is very motivating and rewarding. Developing one’s skills or acquiring new ones is a great way to stay motivated. Investing in training for your team shows that you believe in it and that you think it can accomplish much more by possessing the right tools and know-how.

  • Challenges and Rewards

In order to motivate your team, do not hesitate to launch small challenges that will push her out of her routine and develop new skills. At each challenge, congratulate the team and offer a reward : a good gift, a meal or an evening out, a bonus, a symbolic object … Your collaborators will have only one desire: start again!

  • Compliments and Recognition

Congratulating a collaborator for the work and the accomplished efforts can do wonders on his motivation. Seeing his work recognized and rewarded, especially publicly, will further motivate the person to continue his efforts and get involved in the project. It is important to recognize and compliment the team as a whole and each individual.

Recognition encourages self-transcendence and contributes to the well-being of your employees within the team, and more generally within the company. This is a great way to motivate your troops.

To Conclude

Without motivation, the best of teams is nothing. Conversely, an unskilled but highly motivated person can lift mountains. Be sure to value teamwork as well as individual work, build trust and empower your employees. Follow these tricks today and boost your team’s motivation to perform and get more involved in your project.
