Team Management: Tips for Managing your Team Effectively

Team Management: Are you a Good Leader? Not everyone is meant to be a leader. And from time to time companies do not do things right by appointing a manager to be the leader of the department. A study by The American Psychological Association revealed that 75% of employees did not leave their job but their boss.

Thus, if a company does not have the right person in team management, it is certain that this will affect the turnover rate of the company but also the attitude of the employees towards the company. But how to be a good leader? How to successfully motivate your team effectively?

Team Management: Tips for Managing your Team Effectively

There are many things a manager can do that will demotivate his collaborators. You have to be very attentive to the world around you and learn to know your collaborators.

Keeping your team motivated is far from easy. Not everyone has the strength or patience, trying to understand everyone. So here are some tips.

  1. Have an “Emotional Intelligence”

Emotional intelligence is one of the most underestimated factors in team management in companies, while it is used extensively in sports. Take the example of a sports coach. During a match he is able to understand how his players feel, whether they need to be replaced or not.

In business, a manager must act with his team as a coach with his athletes. He must be able to know when they need to be motivated, challenging, congratulated or even restrained.

  1. Be Transparent

Having a culture that promotes transparency is very important. It is vital that your employees are aware of what is happening at all times.

To improve your communication you can very easily set up a corporate social network, like the one developed by experts. This kind of tool allows you to distribute information in real time and in a secure way.

The more your employees have a clear vision of your company’s strategy, the more they will invest in their work.

  1. Admit your Mistakes

Having an “ego-manic” manager brings many stressful moments to the workplace. But the worst manager would be someone who is not faithful to himself or his ideas and dishonest to his collaborators.

When a manager does not agree to be wrong, he proves that he is not able to lead a team or make important decisions.

A lack of questioning can unfortunately lead to a lack of innovation. Indeed, the road of innovation is not all traced and is strewn with pitfalls. A good manager knows that failure is a possibility and adjusts the path according to that. The bad manager will only ask his teams to go the end of the way.

  1. How to become a better Leader?

You manage a team and are looking to become a real leader for it? The task is not so easy, but here are three tips that could help you improve.

  1. Be Honest

Honesty goes hand in hand with transparency. We talked about it above but it is really essential that there should be a clear and clear communication between you and your collaborators and also between your collaborators themselves.

A collaborative platform is a great way to exchange information quickly and in real time, which greatly facilitates internal communication.

  1. Delegate Correctly

When you ask someone to lead a project, make sure it is the right person for that kind of work. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of your collaborators is necessary to assign assignments accordingly.

This will prevent you from having employees who demotivate because they can not carry out a project or on the contrary who feel underestimated.

  1. Adopt the “Positive Attitude”

Do not worry, we will not make you the insult of singing the song of the same name. We just want to say that even if things do not go in the direction you were hoping for, keep your head up. Consider the mistakes or failures of your collaborators as a way of making them evolve, an apprenticeship.

Always keep in mind that “Every difficulty encountered must be an opportunity for further progress” .

Also use this “positive attitude” to improve working conditions. Do not hesitate to talk to your staff about the coffee machine. Five minutes may be enough to give a smile to someone and that person will be more motivated thereafter.
