7 – Questions to Know If You Manage Your Projects in Collaborative Mode

Collaborative Mode in project Management:- To be successful in a complex and ever-changing environment as we know it, the key to success is seamless collaboration within the team and the use of appropriate tools.

The time when everyone was working in his corner is over. Nevertheless, this modern approach is a break with a habit firmly rooted in our business: defend his meadow. A new behavior must emerge. Sharing, sharing information. The choice of collective interest rather than personal strategies

Question to Know before managing Project in Collaborative Mode

Setting these principles to music requires the use of collaborative tools to facilitate collective work and improve team productivity. How do you relate to these new requirements? We invite you to ask yourself 7 points to self-assess your ability to manage a project in collaborative mode.

Do you Share the Information?

Sharing is at the heart of your mode of operation. For you information is only valuable if it lives. You consider the systematic retention of information as an unhealthy practice, which has only one goal: to feed one’s personal power to the detriment of the success of the project.

Collaborative software allows via internal messaging making information sharing accessible in a few clicks without the storage and management constraints inherent to traditional emails.

Do you Share Responsibilities?

You know how to identify and rely on the right skills to delegate and share responsibilities. You are not one of those who want to do everything themselves. You position yourself in a role of facilitator and not expert to take advantage of the wealth of your team, the knowledge and know-how of each. You set a level of responsibility for each one based on their skills. You end up with tasks whose responsibilities are clearly defined in your software.

Do you make Regular Points?

Communication during the project is an important factor for its success. This practice prevents any drift and allows choosing options sometimes different from those originally planned. These exchange meetings with your team are for you a central element for a successful collaboration. You make the effort to plan and respect these intersections planned in the collaborative agenda.

Do you Plan your Project with the Team?

You understand the importance in terms of management and efficiency to plan the progress of the project with your team management, because to gain the support of each one, it is advisable to pose cards on table and to define together the way to reach the fixed objective efficiency, because some parameters – which you may have missed – make the schedule untenable. Pooling will necessarily reduce this risk through the range of skills and experiences around the table. Planzone offers a visual schedule to have an overview of the project with many features to facilitate collaborative monitoring.

Do you Encourage Members of your team to Express their Opinion?

The questioning is for you a second nature. Why? How? And if? What do you think? … You constantly question each person to know their position, their remarks and their suggestions on different subjects concerning the project in which you are all involved. You encourage your team to use the “Discussion” feature of your project management software solution.

Are you Open to Proposals without Prior Notice?

Beyond the simple listening, you take into account the relevant opinions and implement the good ideas if necessary. You are able to distance yourself from your own opinions on a better proposal and adopt it in the end. Even if it does not come from you!

Do you adopt transparency as a Course of Action?

No hidden goals, no manipulation, the mutual trust towards your team goes through transparency. This is a non-negotiable subject for you.
