Productivity Gain

Productivity Gain

The productivity gain is a bit of the nerve of corporate warfare. But several constraints surely prevent you from being even more effective. Find out how to fix it, without duplicating your tasks or lengthening your working hours. Below are the four barriers in the way of productivity gain and as a manager, you need to bypass them. It’s critical to accurately estimate productivity. Many businesses that wish to improve their competitiveness are putting a lot of money and trust in technologies to track the efficiency of their facilities and offices.

The task of measuring productivity is simply too crucial to be left to productivity experts. Managers, on the other hand, do not need to become specialists to ensure that existing systems satisfy their demands.

More From Business Study Notes:- Production Possibilities Frontier

Wages have nothing to do with productivity. High pay can be problematic, not because workers are overpaid, but because they create insufficiently. Managers should focus on labor dollars per product rather than dollars per hour when considering how to effectively measure productivity. That is labor content rather than labor cost.

The focus of productivity measurement should be on overall capabilities rather than a single set of costs. How well does your organization turn a pile of raw materials, a few machines, mountains of paperwork, and groups of personnel into valuable goods or services? That is the question that a productivity index should answer. It’s a relationship between physical inputs and outputs as much as possible.

Productivity = Units of Output / Units of Inputs

Barriers in the Way to Productivity Gain

  • Unwanted emails: a drag on productivity

Professionals know it is very easy to be invaded by emails. And responding to all requests, more or less urgent, it takes time. In addition, in the era of spam, precious time is wasted sorting emails and picking up a large number of unnecessary emails.

The solution? Create a chat room via Planzone. Here, all your exchanges will be structured and grouped around a theme, a project, for better management of your discussions and, of course, productivity gain.

  • Permanent interruptions and loss of time

Again, as a professional, you know how disturbing it is to be constantly disturbed and unable to concentrate on a task. With constant calls and interruptions by colleagues, it is important to minimize these interventions that penalize productivity and concentration.

The solution? Planzone, once again. Indeed, this tool makes it possible to manage its working time thanks to the determination of the level of importance of the tasks created and the date of expiry. Some tasks are not urgent, so you can treat them calmly once your current activity is over.

  • Procrastination: the enemy of efficiency

The fact not knowing how to manage one’s priorities and not having effective tools gives rise to procrastination. However, this practice is far from being the friend of productivity gain. In fact, postponing the day only entails an accumulation of tasks from which it is ultimately impossible to extricate one.

The solution? Manage your work time with a simple and effective planning tool. Planzone allows you to segment your schedule into tasks and subtasks, manage deadlines and create a timetable compatible with your real possibilities for optimized work.

  • Finding non-centralized information

The use of many tools and software often leads to the mishandling of information. Emails, Word and Excel files, images, PDFs, there are just everywhere. The fact of not centralizing the information causes a loss of time detrimental not only to the company but also to the organization of each one.

Tips to Increase Productivity

  • Set up a peaceful area in your workplace with few distractions.
To avoid email ping pong, discourage over-reliance on emails when a phone call would be more efficient.
  • Wherever possible, allow for flexible or remote working, even if only for a trial period.
  • Shop around for more convenient and robust cell phone and internet connections.
  • Hold regular one-on-one meetings with employees to learn about their concerns and thoughts about their workplace.
  • Spend your money wisely on equipment and software that will make your job easier and more effective.
